Harvey was a close friend to Vi and me. He was SDSSA's 2005 Honorary Life member selection and he certainly deserved that recognition. I will miss Harvey from our weekly luncheons, our Trap League and various social get-togethers. I'll write more about him when I collect my thoughts.
Harvey kept well-informed on the news in Israel. He also kept his luncheon friends; Lou Imbimbo, Joe Matkovich, Fred Hoyle and me, in constant debate about the Middle East.
Harvey claimed he was an Independant, but we claimed he was a closet Democrat.
When he was selected to receive the prestigious Honorary Life Member Award in 2005, with a tear in his eye he told me that it was of the "great moments in his life". He earned the right to be selected.
Harvey was an accomplished photographer who won a number of awards at the annual San Diego County Fair (Del Mar). Several years ago, he gave me one of his prized framed photographs which Vi & I cherish.
We'll miss you Harvey.

I first met Harvey at the Convair gun range in 1976. He always had a smile and a hand shake. We had many good times at the shoots we attended. I will miss Harvey. He was nice to be around.
Good by old friend. We will meet again.

I met Harvey in 1992 when I just started shooting. At the time Harvey was the manager of the Miramar Gun Club as it was then called. As a beginner I was a bit apprehensive about shooting practice with scores in the teens while my squad mates shot in the high 20’s. Harvey made me feel welcome and helped me with the fundamentals, encouraged me to join and shoot ATA and quickly became a great friend & coach.
Over the years I spent time shooting and socializing with Harvey and his wife. We shared many good meals together and I learned much about the shooting world and competition through Harvey. In many ways he was an ambassador for our club. More than a few times when we met shooters at the state shoot he would describe our club and ATA shoots to non-San Diegans, and sure enough…they would appear at our next ATA shoot after driving 100+ miles. They arrived all excited to experience what Harvey had told them about, and some of them still drive down to our ATA's today.
Harvey was one of those guys you just took an immediate liking to as soon as you meet him! In fact , I never heard anything except kind words about him from everyone that knew him. He will be missed, but his spirit will always be alive at our club.

Harvey was a good friend. We spent many happy days together. I've been puzzling for days, what could best describe him?
The rabbi at his services said it perfectly, " he was extraordinary".

I met Harvey shortly after I started shooting at the gun club in the mid 80’s. He always had a smile and a handshake. Harvey, Fred Hoyle, Augie Daddi, Lou Imbimbo and I would meet for lunch once or twice a week after shooting at the club whenever possible. We always enjoyed ourselves and yes Augie, I think Harvey was a closet Democrat.
I’m going to miss our meeting at the club and lunch afterwards because I really looked forward to those times. Just remember Harvey, when we squad up on the other side you are on post one.
Until we meet again old friend.

Harvey Fischer was an amazing guy! He gave of himself unselfishly to Miramar Trap & Skeet Club in being its President for four years in the early-mid 1980’s. Harvey was our range manager, the ATA Trap Chairman along with a myriad of other volunteer duties like the mundane folding of the membership newsletter on a monthly basis. I will remember Harvey as a quite and unassuming individual whose undying love for “ Miramar” and its programs were in the forefront of his extracurricular activities. He will be missed by me and all who knew him.
