Sam was a lifetime member of the Miramar Gun Club where he won several shooting tournaments. Sam was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Adeline (Laurie) Massa, his son Anthony (Ninfa) Navarra, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and his sister Jenny Santos. A Rosary and Funeral Mass for Sam will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1629 Columbia Street. Sammy was a people person who enjoyed life and his precious Poodle, Angel.  I first met Sammy in the early 80's when he was shooting registered skeet.  I shot right behind him and he would encourage you to shoot well in his recognizable honey-raspy Italian voice out of the Sopranos by saying, "Make 'em bleed."  Sam was a friend to all and never passed up a chance to greet those he didn't know at the range.  Sam was the epitome of "calm, cool and collected."  He was indeed a great individual and I will surely miss him.

Sam was very friendly to everyone.  He and I spent a great deal of time talking about the different shotgun sports.  He enjoyed shooting skeet, trap, and 5 stand.  Sam and 'Angel' (his dog) were great companions and everyone knew it.  I will miss Sam.
