Jim Revere was born and raised in the small farming town of Council Grove,
Kansas. He married Lillian in 1937 and immediately headed to San Diego. Many
adventures awaited this avid sportsman. He is the father of 3 daughters, 5
grandchildren, and 5 great grandkids with a sixth on the way.
Jim and Lillian have lived in the North Park neighborhood for the last 50 yrs.
He worked for the City of San Diego as an electrician and gained the title of
the General Foreman of the Electrical Department before he retired in 1971.
His true love was outdoor sports. He camped, fished, hunted with rifles,
pistols and even bows and arrows and was a lifetime member of several gun clubs.
He built boats from scratch and taught his kids to ski at Shelter Island in the
1950's when the Navy boats gave the kids wakes to jump.
He and Lillian were very happy in their retirement years and kept busy with
favorite activities - target shooting, hunting, camping, boating, and desert
ratting.
His shooting days came to an abrupt end when he lost his sight to macular
degeneration in 2001. From that point his greatest pleasure was the time spent
with his loving family. He genuinely loved and appreciated his wife who never
left his side and continued rejoice in his presence.
He died peacefully in his sleep on April 2, 2005.
