The purpose of this Skeet League is to promote the sport of skeet shooting, to encourage competition, and at the same time have a lot of fun and camaraderie. To promote this purpose team leaders are encouraged to develop teams composed of both registered skeet shooters and shooters who have not yet ventured into registered shooting. Using only the top 4 scores each week and handicap points for lower scoring teams will even the playing field. (See rules)

Presummer 2004 SKEET LEAGUE - 300 Targets
     

Teams: Teams will be composed of the Team Leader and up to 6 other shooters. (Maximum of 7 shooters per team) (4 is the minimum number of shooters - 6 is encouraged)

Team Leader: The Team Leader will be responsible for communicating with his team and working out the time the team will shoot each week. The Team Leader will also be responsible for working with the Range Office to make sure there is a Field Staff available to pull and score. The Skeet Starter will have the score sheets and assign a puller to the team. After shooting the targets the Team Leader will be responsible to see that the score sheet is taken to the Range Office.

     
Shoot Rules:
     
  1. The team is encouraged to shoot together as a team.
  2.
Each weeks shooting must be completed by Sunday afternoon. (The week starts on Wednesday)
  3.
Each team will shoot 2 rounds of regular skeet each week. (Gauge used is optional)
  4. The weeks rounds do not have to be shot consecutively but must be shot in the same week.
  5.
Only the top 4 scores of each round will be counted toward the competition.
  6.
6. Each week the total scores of each team will be recorded and league points will be given to teams based on the number of league teams participating. (i.e. - if there are 9 teams in the league the top team will get 9 points and the bottom team 1 point)
  7.
7. Handicap points for the next week will be 80% of the difference between each team's score and the high team's score. This handicap is computed weekly.

8. If a team member is going to be unable to shoot during a week, that team member (or the entire team) may shoot a week early, but not late. (Scores and handicaps will be posted at the end of a week and cannot be "made up" by shooting late - you can shoot early but not late!)
Cost:
     
  1.
1. 2 card entries ($5/card entry) per shooter (member or non-members as the case may be).
  2.
2. The entry fee is $50.00. This fee to be paid in full at the range cashiers window by the time the League commences. All of the $50.00 will be returned in prizes for the teams based on their final standings, except for the money that may also be used for participation gifts such as shirts, etc. as determined by the Skeet Committee and the "grand finale" BASH party at the end of the league
     
League Time Frame: The league will commence the week of March 19, 2003. The six weeks will be [3/17-3/21] [3/24-3/28][3/31-4/4] [4/7-4/11 [skip 4/14-4/18 (bye week) because of NSSA skeet shoot] but you can shoot this week if you want to shoot ahead. [4/21-4/25] [final week 4/28-5/2] [Grand finale party BASH on 5/12] This will be six weeks competition. (2 rounds each week for 6 weeks)

Optional Registered Targets: Prior to shooting the league targets, any shooter participating in the League, may notify Vern Gideon (619-579-8157 or e-mail Maryvern11@aol.com) that registered targets will be shot and the gauge to be used. The shooter may register the league targets at the next San Diego Shotgun Sports NSSA shoot in which they participate.
